L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara Review

What L'Oreal says "L’Oréal introduces Voluminous® Carbon Black Mascara, for bold and beautiful lashes, with dramatic volume. It’s a shade that’s blacker than black! Safe for sensitive eyes."

I only bought this mascara because my friend picked it out for me and said it's the best. I'm always trying new mascara's and almost never use the same one twice as there are new mascara's coming out so often that when I finish one I'm always looking to try another because I have yet to find a mascara that I really love.

The size of this brush it pretty good I like the fact that it's not to big, it's just the right size for getting your lashes.
I have notice that this mascara does make my bottom lashes appear longer and thicker but with my top lashes I think it only makes them look thicker.
If your like me and you love to apply tons of mascara to your lashes i find that with Voluminous it does clump up if you apply more then 3 coats, which you can see in this picture my lashes are a bit clumped. So now I'm learning to only apply 2 to 3 coats.
Overall I don't think I will be buying this again but I have only used this mascara a few times. I may change my mind but for now I don't think i will be purchasing this mascara again.

What do you think of L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara?

Too Faced Shadow Brushes 3 Piece Set - Review

On St. Patrick's Day I went shopping with my friend and Sephora was one of the stores I stopped at because I really wanted to buy Too Faced Shadow Essential 3 Piece Brush Set.

From Too Faced Website
"Teddy Bear Hair: Created using “Teddy Bear Hair,” an exclusive, super soft, cruelty free and luxurious synthetic fiber that grabs and blends pigments for a professional looking application."
"Resilient: Synthetic hair bristles are long lasting and clean easier then animal hair brushes."

So of course there are 3 brushes in this set. It comes with a Crease/Blender Brush, Lid/Smoker Brush and a Liner/Smudger Brush and it tells you which brush is which. I think this set of brushes it perfect for people who are just starting to experiment with eye makeup because not only does Too Faced name the brushes for you it also comes with a instructions sheet for each of the brushes.

These brushes are super soft and feel great when I apply them on my skin. I have sensitive eyes and these are great for me they don't make my eyes water or itch. Also they are easy to clean. I also love the soft pink colour of the brushes and the case that they come in makes it easy to take the brushes with you any where if you need too. I would recommend getting these to anyone.

Guest Post By Chantelle from Side-Notes - MAC Review

Hey SheerBeauty blog readers :) My name is Chantelle and I'm an events & lifestyle blogger for Side-Notes and my personal blog, Chantelle.Simone.

Being a girl that's always on the go, I took a trip to MAC cosmetics to find a simple way of adding a little *special something* to my otherwise Plain Jane lip care routine.

MAC “Touch” in Lustre Lipstick
I was looking for the perfect nude lipstick being a darker skin complexion. Something that would go on elegantly and not look ashy. I was a little skeptical at first, but this lipstick is perfect!
The lipstick goes on smoothly; a peachy cinnamon, works perfectly as an everyday lipstick. Taking you from school, work, or even a night out I can see this as my go to colour.
If you’re looking for a safe way to slowly introduce yourself to lipstick without being too bold, this is the choice for you.
Note: For for a more noticeable, intense look, you’ll have to apply approx. 4 layers for it to be more prominent on darker skin complexions.

MAC Prep + Prime Lip Primer
The secret to flawless looking lips? It all starts with a great base.
Mac’s “Prep + Prime” lip primer goes on clear, making lip colour appear more smooth reducing that awful look of lip creases.
It’s also small and compact, perfect for slipping into a small purse or wrislet on the go!
If you’re planning to use it everyday (like I am haha!) prepare to replenish your stock often. At about $18 a tube this is a product that exceeds expectations.

March Luxe Box

Last month I was so lucky to win a March Luxe Box from I love the fact that they make the box feel personal by adding the sticker with your name on it. Here what I got inside this months Luxe Box.

Prevage Face - Advanced Anti Aging Serum

China Glaze Techno

Fekkai Advanced Salon Technician Color Care

J.R. Watkins Hand & Body Lotion

My overall thoughts on this box is that there wasn't many products that were for me so I gave away pretty much everything to my mom but the China Glaze polish and lotion. Which I might give away the lotion as I don't really like lavender scented products. I do however like that you get 5-6 products to try which is more then Julep Maven Boxes which is the only other company that has a program like this that I have tried. And I also like that they also sent me a coupon along with the products, which I will be using that coupon. I think that I would try this box again but maybe with my mom that way anything that I wouldn't use I could give to her.

Have you tried Luxe Box or any other programs like Luxe box?

Guest Post By Brittany From Britts Beauty Blog - NYX Palette Review

Hi I'am Brittany! You can check out my reviews, hauls, and learn more about me on my blog at

I bought the NYX Nude on Nude pallet because its half the price of the similar Urban Decay Naked pallets and i wanted to try it for my self and give my review!

here are my favorite colors:

Pros: This pallet has 20 neutral eye shadows and 10 lip colors that that can be used in a variety of different combinations. I love that this pallet has more matte colors than the Urban Decay Naked pallets. These eye shadows are very pigmented which mean they last long, are vivid, and you need less product to get high-impact color!!

Cons: My only complaint is that the eye shadows don't have names but that isn't really important. It's only $25! You can buy it here:

March Julep Maven Box

Here is my Julep Maven box that I got for this month. I haven't got my box for last month but when I do I will post that up on here, so until then here is the box for March. Oh and I also received today my March Luxe Box that I won which I will post that box soon.

What I Got

Julep Nail File

The first polish is called Jennifer and the purple polish is called Brooke.
I haven't yet tried these polishes but when I do I will post the swatch.

Elixir Organic Moroccan Argan Oil can be used on your hair, skin and nails. So far I have only tested this product out on my hair. Last night I put a few drops on my hair and the next day when I woke up my hair looked so shiny, it was easy to comb and it felt silky.
